Mulberry has thrived on its traditional English lifestyle brand, built on a foundation of saddlery techniques and English crafts by founder Roger Saul in 1971, thus becoming a highly successful international brand specialising in interiors, fashion and leather goods. Saul began his career producing leather chokers and belts for supply to high end boutiques such as Biba London.  His influence continued into comfortable, chic and seemingly effortless English living with its associated pastimes... flying jackets, sturdy harness leather saddlery and angling etc. As described by Saul himself Mulberry came to epitomise "a romantic yet robust lifestyle".  An inspirational blend which was influencial in obtaining an aspirational Thatcher inspired young professional upwardly mobile market.  

Saul has now moved into the organic food sector with his sharpham park range of natural foods developed on this prestigious estate of the same name, based in Somerset close to where the Mulberry story began.

Today the Mulberry we know is a dynamic focused contemporary brand. The strategy for change being a steady, transistional process. With Mulberry's roots firmly established in the international luxury brand market place, this has been a finely tuned process by injecting the brand with fresh new talent from the best designers.  In 2005 Stuart Vevers  was appointed as creative Director of Mulberry and succeeded in raising the brands high profile public image in collaboration with British designer Luella Bartley (Giselle bag) alongside other major talent such as Giles Deacon and Julie Verhoeven ... click out the links!
